Why Saksons Institute For Child Education Research & Development Trust?
Saksons Institute for Child Education Research & Development Trust enables some of the world. Saksons Institute for Child Education Research & Development Trust enables some of the world's poorest families to move out of poverty. Through the use of a mentoring model and a sport-based curriculum we engage children and ensure that they make the right choices so that they have a constructive journey from childhood all the way through towards better and dignified livelihoods as adults.
The organization’s philosophy revolves around the concept of mentoring. Young people from the communities in which we intervene volunteer to work with Saksons Institute for Child Education Research & Development Trust. They are trained over an extended period of time to emerge as able Indian Youth Leaders .They then function as mentors for children in the community with whom they conduct weekly sessions based on a well-researched, activity -based curriculum that SICERDT has developed. This curriculum focuses on the key impact areas of health, education, gender equality and livelihood addressing issues within the individual communities and India as a whole.
The SICERDTs not only become enablers of learning during sessions but also role models for children across the community. As a result, Saksons Institute For Child Education Research & Development Trust children emerge as adults who have more control and choice in their lives and who contribute confidently and constructively to a better society. The young people who mentor them move into respectable livelihoods, continuing to function as role models in their communities. This structure also ensures SICERDT does not have to exit a community as the young people we have trained take on the programme and keep it going.
Saksons Institute for Child Education Research & Development Trust aspires to move a million children out of the cycle of poverty and into a cycle of confidence, learning and employment. At the end of a child’s journey with SICERDT the child will emerge a more balanced, confident and open individual who is respectful of others, able to deal constructively with difference, is healthy, educated, employed and, above all, contributing both in thought and deeds to the development of a better society.
